John Lennon Framed Calligraphy Quote by Sandy Diamond The piece measures 14”x13” - Autographed by the author John Lennon described “Imagine" as “an ad campaign for peace”, and it is no surprise that his moving anthem is such a beacon for those who long for global harmony. Written in 1971 during the Vietnam War, it has become a permanent protest song and a lasting emblem of hope. This print was calligraphed by Northwest artist Sandy Diamond, who enhanced Lennon’s words with background mandalas. The artist received her BFA from Columbia School of Painting & Sculpture in the mid 60’s. Increased physical limitations forced her to forego the large paintings of her youth, but she turned her love of the art of calligraphy and an eye toward inspiring quotes into decades of successful artwork.
